TERMS OF SERVICE
Last updated: May 2026
Plain version: OkDeal is a memory aid, not a lawyer. Use it to make clear agreements with people you trust. Be reasonable.
Not a legal contract
A deal made on OkDeal is not legally binding. It's a shared record of an agreement — a handshake in writing. If you need something enforceable, talk to a lawyer and use a real contract. OkDeal is for informal agreements between people who trust each other.
Beta software
OkDeal is an early beta. It's free to use, and it's a work in progress. We make no guarantees about uptime, reliability, or data persistence. Don't use it as the only record of anything you truly can't afford to lose.
No edits, no take-backs
Once a deal is signed, it's locked. The text can't be changed, and the deal can't be deleted or unsigned. This is intentional — the whole point of OkDeal is that both parties can trust the record won't change. Don't sign something you didn't mean.
Acceptable use
Use OkDeal for honest agreements between real people. Don't put abusive, harassing, or illegal content in deal text. Don't use it to spam someone with unwanted deal links. Birch Tree Studio reserves the right to remove deals that violate these terms.
The URL is the credential
Anyone with a deal's URL can view it. If you want a deal to stay between you and the other party, treat the URL like a password — don't post it publicly.
The service may change
We may add features, change features, or shut down entirely. We'll give reasonable notice if something significant changes. Because deals are permanent, any existing signed deals will remain readable even if we wind down.
Feedback & Suggestions
We welcome feedback and feature suggestions. Any ideas, suggestions, or feedback you submit may be used by OkDeal to improve the product. By submitting feedback, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use it without obligation or compensation to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
